Skills+ Workshop Introduction to Coffee Making.

Are you interested in learning about the coffee making process? Or interested in getting a job in the hospitality industry?

For Change Co. and Five Senses Coffee are hosting free skills training workshops for young people aged 16-25. 

We’ll be visiting the Five Senses roasting house and immersing ourselves in the wonderful world of coffee – from raw beans, roastings and all the way through to full flavoured coffee.

This workshop is perfect for any young person who has an interest in gaining employment within the hospitality industry. It’s an interesting and informative tour around the Five Senses roasting house, a favourite workshop amongst our trainee staff.

We love introducing people to the coffee story. We have a lot of fun as we tour the Five Senses Roasting House, many people don’t realise the science and passion that goes in to making a good cup of coffee.

Workplace Rights, Health and Safety

18 April; 12-1pm

Ever wondered what your rights are as you begin a new job? Or how you manage challenging conversations with a manager or a work colleague? This session will introduce to the following ideas that you can apply to your future employment goals:

  • Workplace rights
  • Health & safety in the workplace
  • Bullying and discrimination

Career Planning Workshop

18 April; 2-3pm

Ever had an idea about what career you’d like to get into but you’re not sure how to find a way to get your foot in the door?
This workshop will focus on how to build your confidence and knowledge in how to access different job opportunities and to help you think about your short term and medium term employment goals. This workshop will focus on the following:

  • How do you career plan?
  • Where are you now and what are your career opportunities?
  • What skills will improve your employability?
  • Why is networking important and how to do it?
