For Change Cafe, Bellfield opened at the beginning of the year, and already they’ve created so much positive change in our community.

For Change Cafes are part of the For Change Co. family – a social enterprise on a mission to end youth homelessness. No small task, given that on any given night, 28,000 people are homeless in Australia, and one-third are under 25. Each For Change Cafe venue provides paid employment and workplace training for young people who, through no fault of their own, are facing homelessness.

Supporting local young people to create their own pathway out of homelessness

Quick to make an impact in the Banyule community, For Change Cafe, Bellfield has already recruited two young people from the local area into the program, with another young person to begin in the coming week. 

Work Placement for Waratah Special Development School students.

The cafe also hosts work placement for Waratah Special Development School students. The students involved have flourished in both work skills and confidence. The cafe welcomes the community to come and support these young people on Friday mornings.
