Welcome to For Change Cafes.
We are more than a great Melbourne cafe, we are a social enterprise providing pathways for young people facing homelessness.
100% of profit from all our cafes and enterprises fund our training program, known as Program For Change, plus our cafe’s provide the training venue for young people to build their skills and their confidence.
For the young people in our program, often called trainees, their journey with us looks something like the below.
The impact of our program is lasting and strong with 89% of our program
participants (trainees) moving in to independent housing with 84% securing
ongoing employment and/or education.
Currently, one third of Australians facing homelessness are under the age of 25.
Every night, 28,000 young people experience homelessness in our country. For an affluent country like Australia, we believe these numbers are simply unacceptable
Our program has proved, when young people are empowered to take control of their lives, they are able to create their own pathway out of the homeless cycle.
