For Change Co. is proud to support @clothingthegaps in recognising January 26th is Not a Date to Celebrate, and the link to sign their petition is in our bio (or visit their page)

We acknowledge the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri people as the traditional custodians of the lands on which For Change Co. operate and that January 26th marks a day of mourning, rememberence and survival.

We also recognise the strength, resilience and pride of Australia's First Nations people, and affirm our commitment to reconciliation and supporting a fairer and more inclusive future for all.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

Please note: @forchange.cafes will be closed on Monday January 27th, but Middle Park will remain open on Sunday January 26th.

We recently held a Trainee Graduation Celebration to recognise the achievements of our trainees who have progressed through our Pathways For Change program. Pathways For Change is our paid training and employment program that supports participants (trainees) to create their own pathway out of the cycle of youth homelessness ❤️

Last month, we paid over $11,000 to our trainees - but what does this mean? 👇🏼

Our paid training and employment program, Pathways For Change, supports participants (trainees) to create their own pathway out of the cycle of youth homelessness.

This means that across our cafe venues, our trainees learn, work, and earn award wages to build knowledge and skills that will support them in any workplace.

Why is it important to pay our young people? 🤔
💡 It boosts engagement and responsibility for our trainees
💼 It builds workplace skills and confidence
💰 It teaches financial literacy
❤️ It values our trainees' contribution and creates real impact

Get to know our new CEO, Miranda Campbell! We asked Miranda all the hot questions 👇🏼

What inspired you to join For Change Co?
My reason for joining is pretty simple: For Change Co. is an amazing organisation, made up of passionate, creative people who are making the world a better place. Doesn't get much better than that!

What’s something about yourself that might surprise people?
While I've spent the last 8 years in the social impact sector, I've actually also spent 15 years in hospitality, including as the co-founder of national restaurant group @belleshotchicken.
Also, I'm a qualified marriage celebrant and I can marry people as Dolly Parton on request.

What has been the most enjoyable aspect of being part of the For Change Co. team so far?
First: getting to know our legendary team. A very close second: getting to know our legendary rhubarb muffins.

What change would you like to see in how Melbourne engages with young people at risk of homelessness?
Our vision is an Australia free from youth homelessness and we are serious about it. We play only one small part in making this a reality, so we need everyone to get behind the mission. This means educating ourselves, advocating for others and where we can, supporting organisations and businesses like ours who share this common goal.

Are there any other social enterprises you admire (besides us of course)?
Hardest question of all! Victoria is home to a thriving social enterprise sector and I admire every single one. Especially our friends in cafes, restaurants and catering who add so much to our world-leading hospitality scene.
But, I absolutely adore flowers, so I'm going to give a shout out to @the.beautifulbunch who not only deliver incredible impact, but create so much joy in the community too.
