Youth Advisory Program

Our Youth Advisory Program, Voice For Change provides an opportunity for young people (aged 18-28) to actively participate in decision-making processes, share their perspectives, and contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that directly impact their lives.

"

The best part of the program for me was the freedom we had over research topics and how we presented our findings. I also valued the support and access to resources about For Change Co and other team members who could assist us in modifying our recommendations to best reflect as many voices as possible.

Being part Voice For Change, participants have the opportunity to:

  • Identify and speak on critical issues affecting youth today, amplifying their voices on matters that directly impact their lives.
  • Develop leadership qualities through active participation in advisory panels and community projects.
  • Develop public speaking skills to effectively communicate messages and influence change.
  • Learn how to engage with local government, councils, and community organisations.
  • Building skills in program design, advocacy and meeting facilitation.

Following the success of the pilot Voice For Change Program, For Change Co have successfully received funding from the City Of Melbourne’s Social Investment Partnerships Program to facilitate two new iterations for organisations in the City Of Melbourne’s council area whilst also employing participants local to the area. These Participants will have the incredible opportunity to evaluate and contribute to the City of Melbourne’s programs and operations, making a direct impact on the Melbourne community.

The first of these iterations will be a collaboration with the City Of Melbourne’s Community Engagement and Impact team and will be running from April to July 2024.

Applications are now closed.
